Timber Care
A part of the wattle family, Acacia is a hardwood timber commonly used here in Australia to make furniture and other timber pieces. Grown in the North East of India, the plantation timber has a distinct and earthy grain which gives off a vibrant sense of life through the timber.
The table tops have been handcrafted using traditional carving and joinery techniques.
Whilst we take great care in our products, these pieces may have some subtle knots, indentations, splits, cracks, chips and other superficial imperfections.
Such a look is part of the charm and appeal of the hand crafted plantation and/or re-cycled timber product.
As timber is a natural product, it may experience movement from atmospheric changes that are outside the control of the manufacturing process.
The wood is ethically sourced and not subject to depletion. This is due to the country’s government and NGOs, like the Global Forest and Trade network, which support re-forestation schemes while providing economic and social benefits to the people that depend on them.
Care Instructions:
- Always avoid direct sunlight and consider room ventilation, heat and humidity levels which could cause natural movement in timber and/or joints.
- Wipe off spills immediately. Always use coasters or table mats.
- Do not place hot objects directly on the surface e.g. pizza cartons and hot pans etc., as discolouration to the furniture could occur.
- Dust and clean with a dry soft cloth. Do not use a damp or wet cloth, when possible.
- Do not use any alcohol, spirit or silicon based cleaning products.
For natural waxed finish timber only, use Beeswax to wax and buff every 6 months to keep the rich look and condition of the timber.
